Knock Knock Who's There: Friendship. Marijuana. Armed Robbery. Denim

Looking forward to it, I've been a fan of your guys' work for a while now. If you need a test audience response for a sneak preview viewing let me know....

Ya, what he said ^...

(Although not the fan part 'cause I haven't seen much of your work, so just the "sneak peek")

Nice grabs. Black eye looks kinda fake though. Bloody nose is fabulous.

Can't wait for the BTS and the trailer. What adapter did you use, the Letus? And camera?

Give us more details!

Baller cat!

Ooooh now this looks like it has real potential!

Love to hear more - production notes, (It was an even 50/50 split between way too much fun and way too much stress) and budget breakdown especially.

Really like the poster, looking forward to a trailer

Bendfilm just wrapped, but maybe next year?

The work, fun, music links don't work btw...

Thanks for the interest! I just added a Trailer and BTS to the beginning of the thread.

What adapter did you use, the Letus? And camera?

Give us more details!

We used an HVX with the Redrock. We had a prototype of the M3 (i think that's what its called?) for shooting but there was a dark spot on the gg so we stuck with Nate's M2. Evan & I have been using the Letus for our commercial work and personally I don't have a preference. Other than the fact that our Letus flips it for us. Although Nate seems to have developed a knack for panning backwards. And i think Redrock's new one flips it now too, right?

We're just leaving the office now to go poster the town to promote for the festival this weekend. Can't wait to watch it with an audience!

Yeah! That cat is Max the Cat -- he's our AD/Producer Andy's. That location you see him in was also Andy's house at the time.

In terms of the 50% pleasure 50% stress -- my brother is right. We learned a lot in the way of planning and taking the initiative to get things done well in advance -- like more than a week. Primarily we were hoping to really collaborate with everyone, but in the independent short there is not always time or money to really sit down and get all the heads together. So we should've gotten more things done ourselves, and sooner.

We also learned that paying everyone -- even if it's well under what they should be paid -- turned out quite well. Everyone understood we were doing everything we could for them, and so in turn they tried to do everything they could for us. Everyone really got along well, not sure if the money really played a part in this. But there were many crew members we were pretty much meeting for the first time, and even when it was freezing outside for eight hours, we were having laughs and taking it in stride -- and I'm sure without that hundred, two hundred bucks, it would've sucked at least that much more.

Having said all that, the production really was one of the best weekends ever. But I feel that the lessons we learned stare me in the face at each viewing. We really can't wait to make something else. I want to make something I never get sick of watching -- whether or not that is a realistic goal is debatable.

We won an award! Our first! We got the James Goldstone Award for an emerging Vermont filmmaker last night at the Vermont International Film Festival. Pretty psyched.

Congratulations! That's awesome.

The trailer looks great - nicely done. And those screen grabs look great too - looks like you have got something really cool here. I'd love to see the film when it's available! Too bad I don't live anywhere near any of those film festivals, I'd check it out for sure.

Keep us informed!

Hey... this looks great! Definitely would like to check it out.

nice bts as well.

We just got back from NYC for the First Sundays Comedy Film Festival and we had an awesome time. We got to see two plays while we were in town: Speed The Plow by David Mamet starring Jeremy Piven; and Farragut North with Chris Noth and Olivia Thirlby. They were both awesome. Highly recommended. But here's the big news: We won 2 more awards! We won both the Audience Award and the Judges' Award. It was pretty exciting. Next weekend the movie is playing in Norway. We're not going to be there but I hope the Norwegians like it!

Four more acceptances! So far we're 7 and 7.

Show Off Your Shorts Film Festival in L.A.
Spokane International Film Festival in Washington.
Victoria Film Festival in British Columbia
San Francisco Independent Film Festival

if you're near any of em stop by and check out Knock Knock.

just got an email that we received the Silver Lei Award from the Honolulu International Film Festival but they won't be screening the movie. There are a bunch of people on WAB who got the same email. Seems kinda fishy. But we'll take it! (we're 8 and 9 so far).

thanks!

More good news: we just got into the Washington DC Independent Film Festival. Our record now is 9 and 13.

And we leave for the west coast in T-minus 10 days and counting...
