Why do the only good ghost movies/stories come out of Asia?

I don't know, "Stir of Echoes" worked for me but I must admit up until "The Ring" horror hadn't impressed me for a long time. The trick ending to "The Others" was nice and I have to say "What Lies Beneath" was decent. But recently came a little film called "Dead Silence". Friggin' dolls! That was scary! Judith Roberts was wild as Mary Shaw. Amber Valletta pops up again in another fav for me (she was in Transporter 2). The ending will drive you batty.

This is not a ghost movie but I tought the original Korean Version of the Departed was way better then the American version ,why because the Korean's made it first .I totally did not expect the movie to be so smart ,it was new and it had something I had never seen in Americian movies before, it was non - predictable, I so could not tell what was going to happen next.
This is what I think can give Asian movies an edge over american movies.
Ofcourse if you are an asian living in asia :) you might want to see the occational striptease on a graveyard act in any movie.

edit : the korean version is a remake of a Hong Kong Version .

Dudes, there's no argument. I'm not saying The Descent was shot in NC. In fact, I'm saying the opposite. I was just saying that if someone thought it was shot in NC because of the Screen Gems tag, it wasn't, because the EUE/Screen Gems here isn't the same Screen Gems which made the movie. It was shot in the UK.

Yep it was made it 2007 and I should correct my post but I meant to say The original Hong Kong version" Infernal Affairs" 2002 is better then the Departed.
