External Video Playback Bug in FCP 6.0.1

Hi,
I've been having this problem, I believe since I upgraded to FCP 6.0.1. I can't playback video full-screen, neither on an external monitor or using my desktop as a full-screen playback. When I try it just freeze-frames on the frame I am on (I believe the audio continues to play as normal, and the video freezes).
I have absolutely no playback problems when looking in the canvas or viewer window.

Anybody have any ideas?

I'm shooting and editing in DVCPRO HD 720p24. I know to turn on "all frames" and that isn't the problem, unfortunately. How do I go to 6.0.4? Is that a free upgrade? That would be great if that fixed the problem.

Yes, that is a free upgrade. But you can fix this problem right now (same thing happened to me a while back). Trash your FCP preferences, and then restart Final Cut and it should work fine.

In case you don't know how to do this, go to Library/Preferences. Delete the file "com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist" and the folder "Final Cut Pro User Date." Don't worry, they will be created again as you restart Final Cut. You will need to choose a new easy or custom setup and reset your scratch disks, but your external viewer will (most likely) work again.
