NEW 1024x768 HD Monitor

The people waiting to receive their monitor probably don't want to hear it, but I had a chance to use the Carrion A on a shoot this weekend and it was fantastic. Everyone from the crew to the actors kept commenting on how great it looked. We're a micro-budget indie feature and the mood on set is always very laidback and casual, but I think we all felt a bit more professional seeing our work on such a high quality monitor rather than the unflattering camera LCD.

Thanks again, Luis!

Oedipax,
Thanks for that note. It's always nice to hear that people like the Carrion.
:)

Hi, I placed an order for a Firewire saver about a week and a half ago, but still haven't received it. I'm moving soon, and am worried I won't receive it in time. For the record, I live in L.A. so the shipping wouldn't take but a day to reach me. I've tried e-mailing you about when I might expect it, but no reply yet. Do you have the Firewire savers in stock?

dudewaba,
Will send it out shortly. I will contact you before I send it to make sure it goes to the right address.
I should have them back in stock in a week.
:)

Luis,

Do you have any info on my Carr. and Pana. Batt plate..... your last PM said you would have it done and shipped last Sunday.... any delays?? Can you confirm if shipped or not.
Thanks

Chris

Also, do you have Canon battery plates for your monitors? It's not listed on your website in the ordering section, though it does say you carry them now. Thanks.

Louis.

Sent you an email at least four days ago about a review.

Just wondering if you've had a chance to look at it.

best

Thanks, also do you know if the heavy-duty Noga Israeli Arm is strong enough to hold your Carrion monitor securely even with a heavy battery attached to the back? What are some good mounting options for it? I know that some of have reported having problems finding mounting solutions because of the weight/size.

The Noga won't work. I highly recommend getting a beefy Zacuto arm if you want to mount this monitor properly.

Sucks, I just bought the heavy duty Noga from Film Tools, haven't used it yet, but they have a no return policy...well, except for store credit. I feel so shammed, since they pass it off as being able to take the heaviest of LCD loads without stressing...guess not. The Zacuto stuff looks promising...almost astonighly overpriced for some of their parts though, but I'm not adverse to paying for something when it's really necessary.

Which Zamerican arm is best? They have different length versions. The smallest one is supposedly the strongest right, rated up to something like 8lbs.? That's what the press release article I read on it seemed to indicate. Is the Zamerican 3, the 12" one, the one everyone seems to be opting for though? And it's able to hold all the 7" and 8.4" HD monitoring LCD options out there like it were nothing?

If so, I'll probalby purchase it. Their site gets confusing though, because they've got like a million different attachments for everything. It gets dizzying trying to figure out what you specifically need, though I believe I sorted through everything and know now.

Thanks for any info.

dudewaba

I've used the heavy duty noga arm with great success using the Carrion. You just need to make sure you have a sturdy place to clamp it.

Cheers

Brian
