How do I get to FCP 5.1.4 ???

Apologies if this is elementary, but this is driving me nuts. I haven't upgraded to Studio 2 yet, plain and simple, not going to go out and do it today either...

My version of FCP is 5.0.4. I've tried getting upgrades for it (which I would assume would be free if it's anything less than 6) to address a bunch of issues. One example is capturing JVC GY-HD110 720 24p HDV footage. I've found various forums referencing FCP 5.1.4, etc and yet can't seem to find this upgrade on the Apple site or anywhere else. Am I missing something here?

Any help, without telling me to upgrade to Final Cut 6, would be appreciated!

Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 was a cross grade that ran $49.00 to $99.00. It wasn't a free upgrade because it involved UB discs that worked on PPC and Intel Macs.

The Promotion was extended twice and lasted eighteen months. It involved sending your discs in, and having new ones sent out.

Apple ended the cross grade well over a year or so ago.

I won't tell you to upgrade to FCP 6, but I will tell you that unless you buy on eBay, even if that was available, you can't get to 5.1.4 from 5.0.4 any more.

You are very welcome, and glad to help.

Seriously, what you want to be told?

You missed out on the upgrade/cross grade time frame, and the discs were a swap.

Those discs are necessary to upgrade to FCS2.

There's isn't an option, but eBay or Craigslist.

Apple never supplied upgrades to 5.1.4 on its web site, because as I've stated, it required a disc swap and was a paid upgrade.
