I have my DVX/SGpro on the normal rails that come with the adapter. I use a Cavision shoulder pad and handle grips to shoot with my set up. It basically looks like this:
The support is nice for keeping the camera steady, but I can really only do that for about a hour before my arms start to hurt. If I shoot for a long time, I can't lift my arms above my head the next day. The Cavision setup puts everything in front of me, so I have to keep my arms at a 90 degree angle when I shoot. I found the Steady Stick on http://www.dvcreators.net/steady-stick/ and thought it would be cool to use that as well. Have it work like this:
I think it would work? But my problem is that I don't have an open tripod hole at the front end of the camera. There are a bunch on the Giottos QR plate my camera sits on at the back of the camera, but I can't move that around because the rails are too short.
Is there any kind of mount thing that slides onto rails and just gives you another tripod hole? Like something I can slide onto my rails at the front end, tighten, and put the steady stick in?
