I am becoming a citizen!

To celebrate (besides drinking, probably Sam Adams, lol) I am renting the John Adams series and watching all five episodes back to back. :)

It's not a debate?

I just asked the question. a simply yes or no would suffice.

My grandfather was a legal immigrant from Italy and he went through alot to gain his citizenship.

I'm not knocking illegal's. It's not a debate.

Well then congrats!

Robert you're a big part of this board. You've contributed alot. thanks!

You had to be legal..? :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

Lol!! Just kiddin'. Yea, yes we were "permanent resident aliens" meaning I was good to go, join the army, paid my taxes, worked.. but I couldn't vote and if I did something stupid enough I could have gotten deported as part of the punishment. Thankfully, despite what some people might have though of me growing up, I never went crazy.

That's great Mikko. Though you've banned me several times here, I still think it's great you're on your way. See? we Americans aren't vindictive. A guy with your abilities is an asset to America.

With regards to the question about illegal immigrants becoming citizens, it's extremely difficult for an illegal immigrant to gain legal residency in the states. The only practical way to do it, unless there's an amnesty program is to leave the US without detection from USCIS Agents and then return to the US with proper paperwork, like a fiance visa. You cannot convert a Tourist Visa into a residency unless you're marrying a US Citizen. But Generally speaking illegal immigration is nt a good way become a US Citizen. and btw, the fees for processing paperwork have skyrocketed over the last few years.

It was debate night tonight and I am sure many of us are paying close attention to the talks about the economy. It is interesting and important to know that the entertainment industry is the biggest income to the US economy. Every country out there buys our movies, TV shows, etc... So make projects and sell them abroad! We need to offset the oil and Chinese trinket buying. Make movies!

I apologize. I misunderstood. And I can't spell right now. Carry on...
