FAST SDHC Memory for the EX1

Thanks
it is V1.02_0078
Again, this is an EX3. I have seen the 1.11 being talked about for the EX1
does this apply to the EX3 as well?

apparently they are different, latest firmware for EX3 is:

"I called Sony Service Center in San Jose, and they said that 1.02_0078 is the latest firmware for the EX3.."

1.11 is for the EX1 only

Paul

It sounds more like an issue with your reader if the problem is happening with two different cards that others arn't having issues with. Do you only have the one reader? Is it a K33407US?

Guy
Yes, that's it
I guess it would be cheaper to try a new reader than to keep buying different cards
I'll give it one more shot
thanks

you havn't got the write protect tab of the SD cards in the wrong position do you?

Hmm..
That's possible. One of my SanDisk came that way. I can't remember if it was the Extreme 30MB/s.

Paul still has not told us if it is the new Extreme III 30MB/s version, or older Extreme III 20MB/s?

No one (at least reported) that the older Extreme III 20MB/s version works with the Kensington in the EX

No, the write protect is unlocked
I've checked all the user errors I can I think
I'm trying to use the Extreme III 30MB/s card

I'm trying to install the firmware and need some more help. After installing the usb driver I double click on the binarypackageloader.exe and it gives me an error. Says "The application failed to initialize proper (0xc00013..) Click on ok to terminate the application."

Any thoughts?

Thanks so much

Strange- the 16GB SanDisk Extreme III 30MB/s with the Kensington works fine with my EX1.
Others have reported this too.

I'm not sure about the EX3.

Did you use the USB port that's hidden under the small cover held down with two small screws?
If not, you need to as per the instructions.

yes, used that port. Installed the drivers. I tried on my vista computer after and it opened the binary loader exe but the click to install button is greyed out due to this error.

Login Mode Error:(90005)
<<Check the Target!!>>

Turned off and turned back on tried again and the same error. I am in camera mode and everything appears to be connected properly.

Hmm.
After connecting, check device manager and make sure the driver is loading as mentioned in the instructions. Of course, you may have already checked.

It worked fine with XP. It's supposed to be Vista compatible?

I updated my camera to 1.11. The first time I tried to update my camera the program crashed when the camera was 97% updated. I screamed OH SH!T, took a deep breath and tried again. This time everything loaded and my camera is fully functional again. I don't think there is much of a risk to "brick" the camera.

Ok, so turned off everything changed the usb cables to different inputs and reinstalled the drivers. Turned the camera on with the usb already plugged in and voila working. Odd, but glad it got going.

Did you say you tried the factory reset first? If not, you might want to try this.

When you first execute the loader software, it sends an initialization routine to the EX1.
As you mentioned, it appears to be failing here.

Also, for sh!ts and giggles you may want to try a different USB cable.

For everyone regarding the fake ultra II cards, I ordered one off ebay from a reputable (or so I thought) with 1200 feedback and it was a fake. So do yourself a favour and just buy it from a legitimate store. Easier and probably a lot less headache if this happens.
