HPX question, why can't I choose DVCPRO-HD?

When I go into recording setup I see the following:

rec format - 720p/24pn
480i rec mode - dvcpro50 <----this is colored blue hence I can't change it. Is this where I would make my DVDPRO-HD selection? I'm assuming not but can't figure out where to make my choice.

Also, for the sarcastic fellas, yes I have looked in in manual multiple times. I simply can't find it. Wish there was an index.

The reason it's blue is because 720p/24pn uses the DVDPRO-HD format by default so it's not applicable. It becomes applicable if you were to change your REC FORMAT to one of the 480i options, you would then be able to change the 480i REC MODE...

Ah ok that makes sense. I was thrown for a loop because I was under the impression that we could choose dvcpro50 for the 720 format as well.

Jay, my friend, crack open the HVX+HPX Book. There's an index in there.

(and yes, to directly answer your question: any time you choose 1080 or 720 modes, you are automatically inherently in DVCPRO-HD. The only time you can choose one of the other modes, such as DVCPRO or DV, is if you're shooting standard-def).

Yeah, I found it while reading your book before bed last night. Pages 76 and 77. I'll be reading your book for the rest of the week so my pre-k questions should subside. lol :)
