Quickest way to get a Canon 5D in South Africa?

Please could someone tell me the quickest way to receive a Canon 5Dmarkii in South Africa?

(a) Pre-order online like u guys...

OR

(b) Wait for our local dealers to receive stock here in South Africa?


I know there are troubles importing stuff ur self cos theres no support warranty, etc. And Canon might do 25P for Pal lands right??

BUT I also heard that our local Canon guys are terrible and might only get a handful this year and receive the main shipment next year??? When are u guys gettin your 5Ds???

Any advice???
 
I heard there are only 4 pre-production models floating around right now. 10 cameras are coming for the show in NY.

That pattern is true for most companies.. the first batch of new models arrive in very small quantities to all the major stores around the globe, then it takes a month or two (or three) for the factories to pump out enough to meet actual demand.
 
there is more then 150 cameras made at this day, the one I saw at my camera show, it was a number "number. 121"
and btw they don't let you shoot with your own card.

and at my shop, they will ship us only 3-4 5D MKII for about 1 month or much...
 
First, why is this in the Nikon forum? Second, I received an email from somebody in Nigeria wanting to sell me one of these cameras cheap. If you want, maybe I could forward it to you... :)

That`s what I was wondering...why 5DII threads are being opened in D90 forum thread in the first place... is beyond my understanding.

Instead of concentrating on D90 workarounds , we get the same blah, blah about 5dII fps, jello, shutter,iso etc...

We get the point ...there is another Dslr that shoots 30p, with supposedly less jello than D90,(but no manual controls) and is Canon.
