35mm adapter rig photos

Here's my new rig. Had to trade in my Bogen tripod for something a little more robust. This picture shows my new Nikon 10,000mm lens. Great for watching flies in neighboring towns.

You can go home now disjecta, you've Aced this class with one week of attendance.
What "format" does it shoot? 400? 500 pound solid 4:4:4 steel?

Where is that thing? What period it it from? It looks WWII-ish.

What do you mean what period is it from? It's the new Letus Zenith. I can't wait to post a photo of the dolly rig that goes with this thing.

My arms know that....LOL.

Honestly, I used handheld very little since I got that shoulder mount but one thing it is VERY useful for....being able to set the camera down while moving a tripod.

The back of the shoulder piece and the two grips act like little legs so I can take this thing off, set it down somewhere safe and then move the tripod to the next spot. Or its just useful if I have to set the camera down off the tripod for any reason really....its nice and sturdy. Before we had that you couldn't EVER set the thing down b/c of that little piece that screws into the front of the Letus to level it out and support it. It stuck out the bottom by about an inch and made it impossible to set the thing down anywhere.

The thing is worth the money for more than 1 reason.

Kyle:

Your rig definitely fits the new term I have been hearing from a lot of users "bazooka-cam". My rig is not much shorter. With the emergence of the D90, 5DMKII, Scarlet, etc. I do think that the days of 35mm adapters are numbered and that in a few years, we will look back fondly at our Letus/Brevis/M2 rigs and laugh at how Rube Goldberg they were.

I dont understand these rigs, your camera is supported by a tiny little strut. It cant be very solid, the adapter needs to be solidly held to the camera in order for it to work properly, and how can it be when its held up by such a weedy little bit of metal?!

It looks so precarious, how can you use your rig properly when its held together like that? youd only have to give it a little knock to bend that little strut.

I would agree about stability. I used to have my rig "snorkel down" with my Brevis and Flip and I had the camera mounted up on the platform extender that Cinevate makes. It would make me very nervous, knowing that everything with the camera was relying on that little piece of upright metal tubing and the integrity of the set screw that held it all in place.

I changed my setup around and mounted the camera low and used a second set of rails to support the Brevis and Flip. It's much more stable this way and I don't worry about it nearly as much. Besides, now it fits into its case in one piece. I don't have to take it apart for travel.

My SGpro is finally here!!!!

yay!

Shoulder mount, rails and follow focus are all indifocus products.

Mad props to Tim, he was kind enough to walk me through the process of assembling the FF and promptly sent another gearbox due to "unique" design of the Sgpro.

Now I need to get my hands on some more lenses.

Hi jkc123.

how do you like your shoulder mount? I was looking to get the RR shoulder mount but I know the handles twist so I'm having second thoughts but how do you like yours?

are they confortable when its on your shoulder? are they build solid?
btw, love mononoke!!

Ryvac,

The first thing I noticed about the shoulder mount was that the rig is much, much heavier than I thought it would be; particularly towards the front.

IMHO the rails could be more "solid" but $ 4 $ it's the best bet; and I have no issues in terms of comfort, the hand grips and shoulder mount live up to expectations.
