Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

I like a lot of last season, and I like the universe, so I continue to watch. I didn't see last week's episode until yesterday, though.

Wow. I hope that's just a bad day for the production crew, because the number of cringeworthy moments in this episode was ridiculous.

So, Skynet sends a Terminator to make sure the plant melts down, but also sends a T-1000 to make sure it's integrated into Skynet's grid?

I worry, though, because the C-movie convention of having the T-1000 turn back into Shirley Manson and then smirk at its deed seems to indicate they're going down a bad road.

All in all, I think this show is pretty bad. Has a real TV feel. And Jesus, do they send someone back in time every episode? Why not just go back further and kill Sarah Conner when she's a baby? Wasn't there something in the movie where it was REALLY HARD to send someone through time and sending one terminator back basically fried the machine?

Well, there IS a bit of Highlander syndrome at play -- none of the sequels worked because the story was complete at the end of the first film. The only thing they could do is try to explain why it really wasn't, and it never passed the BS test.

Yeah I wrote a script basically they go back and try to kill the first knowledge of the conner family in California during the 1800's pioneer times. from there john conner sends his wife back to protect her. and well teres a big twist ending but you get it. t would have been nuts.

terminator + old gatling gun = bad ass.

The way I remember it from T1, the Resistance captured the time machine almost immediately after the Terminator was sent back, then was able to send Reese back before destroying it so nobody else could go back. I've always assumed it was a similar situation in the following movies. So I'd have to agree that yeah, it does seem like there's too many people coming back.

It's TV.
But, we also assume Reese went through then they destroyed it. We don't KNOW if they destroyed they could have been captured etc.

I just got into it. It is pretty damn good. Who does the scoring and sound design are great. It took me a while, But I had to distance my self from the original movies and look at it as a stand alone piece. I'm late But I just dig it now for some reason. That lead singer from Garbage is kind of hard to take but i will get used to it.

Tonights episode was better than last. Although it has some logical inconsistancies. It felt like they took a story meant for a half hour and paced it out over an hour. 3rd act of it felt rushed. I guess whats his name is a regular now. John seems to be getting better. and next weeks episode looks like it could be the diamond in the rough.

I actually think this was my favorite episode yet. At first I noticed the absence of Cameron from most of the episode, but looking back, I actually think that might have made it better ("there's a bird up there... should I kill it?" ...retard)

and the Terminator's evil scheme, while initially feeling very contrived, actually played out fairly logically. I also like the whole mousetrap bomb. The device itself actually seemed fairly reasonable, and I appreciated the metaphor.

And while I imagine if I spent any time thinking about it it would reveal itself to be ridiculous, I like the twist about terminators not being able to swim. I mean, the T800 couldn't jog. makes sense :)

If more episodes are like this one I might actually start watching with interest, rather than ridicule :)

Cameron is running all over the crowded pier looking for John before the terminator can terminate him. Have these people never heard of GPS???? You'd think Sarah would've have a chip implanted in John by now -- or at the very least, given him a cell phone with a GPS locator. Geez, we're trying to keep the kid ALIVE here. I don't know why she EVER lets Cameron get farther than 5 feet away from him. With brains like that, the human race doesn't stand a chance.

she gave him a cell phone WITHOUT GPS and look at how that turned out lol

although, speaking of cell phones, am I the only one who thought the phone/date code thing was stupid. I mean im guessing its so John knows if he's talking to someone he can trust, like not a terminator, but whats the difference between a terminator or the librarian saying he needs to bring books back? Also they tell everyone they meet about the code, you would just assume the terminator would just over hear it and use it, and if I recall he did.

regardless, best episode so far lol

What the real Sarah Connor would look like in 2008--

I'm glad we get to look at Lena Headley as the years have not been kind to Linda Hamilton.

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooa

Arggh argh- argh- my eyes are burning!!!

Seriously though- this show is a lot of fun, though the most recent episode(Mousetrap) was kinda network time filler.

Noah

but its hollowed correct these are solid.

That's right. As far as we know, they don't even have lungs, so no inner cavity to fill with air and increase buoyancy. It's all about volume versus mass, and while fat, heavy people can float, it's because fat is less dense than water. Muscular people with low body fat sink in water. Now imagine a terminator with almost no fat and metal for bones.
