Unwanted noise in footage, need some advice

Hey everyone, I need some advice on what to do with some footage I have. I had to shoot my scenes in low light situations (which produced a lot of unwanted noise), I'm wondering if there is anything I can do in post to help make it look decent? Should I soften the sharpness to eliminate some of the grain or just leave it be?

This is my first time using the HVX200a & Redrock M2 and I am kind of embarrased with how grainy some of the footage turned out to be. I'm just learning how to use the camera itself and the onboard functions, so I'm not entirely sure I have the settings adjusted properly. I see all of the beautiful clean footage that is posted on this forum and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Any advice?

What is the best noise reduction filter for final cut pro use? got a geat filter for photoshop called noise ninja but i need a noise reduction plug in for fcp as soon as possible.....any ideas? i found the re-vision de-noise plugin but not sure how good it really is?

too bad that neatvideo plug-in doesnt work for fcp nor mac. i was pretty excited to use that free demo and see how it worked.

When you shoot dark scenes use B-press instead of cine-D or V and light the scene stronger than you want it and bring it back down in post. Especially with the Red Rock cause it sucks light.

I tried the Neatvideo plugin today for Vegas 8. I generally work in FCS2, but I have access to Vegas. The demo plugin was absolutely amazing considering I used the "beginner" mode and the footage I used it on was shot in a dark club with an original 200. I haven't worked out a good workflow to go between FCP and Vegas (neither have many other people, as I've found out) but if I just send raw video back and forth on a portable hard drive, it should work out ok.

I did notice a problem with the video and audio going out of sync on the clip I modified, but I haven't looked into whether that was a different vegas problem, or demo plugin related.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I found out that most of my problems were due to the bleach bypass look I was trying (it was mainly in just the low light scenes). Since there were some noise to begin with in the footage, the blacks in the grain were getting crushed so it looked much worse. I don't have any grabs to post, but I have the teaser trailer up if you want to take a look. Thanks again, take care.
