NEW 1024x768 HD Monitor

Luis,

Been trying to call ya for 4 days, no one picking up the phone and your mail box is full. A production is going to start pretty soon and I need to get a refund soon. Please check your PM please.

thank you

DXmetal,
I just received the message about my PM being full. I will clear some messages and get back to you shortly.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't been able to help Luis. I got slammed here and he's been all on his own. I wish I had been able to go and help him catch up but it hasn't been possible lately. Just FYI so that you know he is still doing all the work without the additional help I first promised then had to retract. He was kind enough to understand. I hope you guys do too when he gets busy and like the rest of us, you can imagine he is real busy too. I know he'll end up selling his own 5k RAW digital projectors one day, so we'd be fools not to be understanding with him. :D

But what's the use if your emails aren't replied or phone calls? I've sent over 10 emails! You think he might of got at least one, right? It's too bad the customer service is "HORRIBLE" because the Carrion is a nice monitor.

I have seen way worst customer service from a well known company way way bigger than Luis. Like what many said, unfortunately Luis is not a 100% monitor business man, he is a real filmmaker, and if you have ever worked in a film, you know how it is. I was going to give my business to Panasonic, but I KNOW that should I need any kind of service, I rather put my FAITH on Luis than some big corporation.

Corporation or little guy, put your faith in the company that delivers the goods as promised. I lost all faith in Redrock and gained huge respect for Nebtek for broken and fulfilled promises. The moment you take good money for any product, you're in that business. I can't imagine making excuses for not delivering on my craft (DP'ing) because I'm really a monitor maker.

The Carrion is an insanely awesome monitor... especially for HPX's for those getting them now. DVI and the charts built into the camera mean there is absolutely nothing you are missing, and the monitor is arguably a miniscule bit better, some of the specs are certainly higher. It is just as if they had been made for each other in a spell of electronic love. If you can pay the difference for the Panavision monitors and you just can't wait, then that's great for you. But those that get their hands on some Carrions are the lucky ones. They saved a bunch of money on their monitor insurance (and premium) by switching to Carrion. :)

Hi Luis,

I would just like to repeat my request for a refund, as I understand your PMs and mailbox have been full. I'm sure the carrion is a great product, but the project for which I wanted it is now over. Please help me out and get my money back to me.

Thanks,

John

Hi Luis

I don't know if you recieved my PM and email, as I understand your PMs and mailbox have been full. Anyway, please don't send me the Panasonic battery plate. I couldn't wait any longer so I bought a Tekkeon battery for the Carrion instead. Please refund me for the battery plate as soon as possible. Thank you!

I'm very happy with the monitor!

Lars

I understand defending Luis regarding workload, etc. But my biggest objection is the complete lack of communication. Nothing. Nada. Emails, phone calls, etc. At the very least, there should be a statement on his website clarifying that orders may take 3 months or 6 months or whatever to be filled. How difficult would that be?

Much will be forgiven/understood if you simply communicate. And, after all, isn't that basically the business most of us are in?

Bingo. The wait sucks and all, but it would be much more tolerable if there was any communication with Luis on when to expect things, even if it's vague ('a few more months' or whatever.) The closest thing I have is doing a search here for "Carrion" every few days and seeing if he's posted anything.

To leave the page up saying the wait is 4-5 weeks when there are un-filled orders from May is borderline fraudulent and at best totally inconsiderate of his customers.

As for the mailbox-full 'excuse' - go register carrion@gmail.com or something! This isn't rocket science. We know you're not some giant corporation, we appreciate we're all going to get a killer monitor at a killer price, and we're willing to wait it out... but communicate with your customers. Please. $1500 isn't pocket change to most of us. If it was, we would've saved the time and hassle and bought the Panasonic instead.

Still waiting also

Still waiting also

Luis, got an e-mail from you Sept 4th saying the monitor would ship early the following week. Now it's the 19th and I've heard nothing. Ordered it July 14th so it's close to nine weeks. Unfortunately I might also have to get a refund only because I really need a monitor solution soon and I can't seem to get in touch with you to find out the status of my order.

Really would prefer to get the Carrion but unfortunately that is seeming like an impossibility.

Also I was looking to use redrocks micro power pod to power the monitor. I'm talking to someone at switronix to make me a cable from the power pod to the Carrion and he would like to know:

1. What is the operating voltage range?
2. What is the actual physical power input?
3. What is the draw on the monitor?

On the chance that I might still be able to get the Carrion I need this info to get the cable made.

Thanks

Alternate monitor?

Alternate monitor?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good monitor to get if I am unable to get the Carrion? I'm using the HVX and Redrock micro M2 lens adapter.

Thanks

Splow,

The two monitors i've been looking at are the hd monitor from manhattanlcd.com and from smallhd.com.

Smallhd ran into a snag and have been delayed for awhile on their new 8.4" screen. If you email, they had 3 of the 12" (1280x768) still in stock from their last run for $450 each. (damn!)

Manhattanlcd has their 1366x768 10.9" in a nice case for $559 and supposedly in stock now.

Both are higher rez than the carrion, but not quite as bright. (250 vs 350 nits).
The smallhd one comes with that sun shade solution (check on that first).

On the other hand, its what, 1/3 the price of the carrion?

hope that helps.

Luis, again.......
Trying to get an idea of when my Carrion will be shipped, my order was made on May 26, and thought i would be part of the shipment that went out 2 weeks ago...... I'm assuming I wasn't since I haven't received it yet.
I'm trying to be patient based on the good things I've heard about your monitor, but that can only last so long. I'm not interested in a refund (yet). I am interested in receiving some sort of communication stating the status of my order..... when it will be shipped? what's the delay? something to make me think I'm not wasting my time with this endeavor.
Thanks

Yikes, refund please!

Yikes, refund please!

Thanks floop! Just ordered the manhattanlcd monitor. I will report on how it is when I get it. It may not be as nice as the Carrion but a it's got to be better than no monitor.

Wow, Brownhood. If you ordered yours in May then I'm probably not getting mine any time soon since I ordered in July.

Luis, sorry but you can add me to the list of refunds. I really can't float that kind of money without at least getting some better communication.

I'm glad for you that business is booming. When you get things more under control on the manufacturing side I will probably be back to buy one of your monitors but for now I really can't wait.

Karl
