How many hours is a lot??

I was wondering, I just got a DVX100A with 172 hrs, is that a LOT?? Or is that good? Let me know, first time DVX owner here! Thanks!

No, that's not a lot at all, as long as the cam has been taken care of. At about 1000 hours, it should be sent in for a maintenance check, so you're good to go.

Sweet, thanks! I wasnt sure. I just bought it off of someone on Craigslist for $800 and its pristine! So, once it hits 1000 hrs, where do I send it to? Panasonic or a Camcorder shop in town? Also...whats the best way to clean the heads? Thanks!

DVX has a self head cleaning function. Other than that, don't run any head cleaning tape thru it, if it needs more work than its own self function, take it to a camera repairman for a professional clean.

So....where is this function at?? lol. I cant find it anywhere on the camera.
