This is the update. Just follow the procedure which has you install v1.10 first, then install 1.11

Also, bear in mind, you do this procedure at your own risk. Although, I've heard many say it went easy without and problems.

That is fantastic, thanks Steve...I am so glad I came across this forum! I have done plenty of DSLR firmware updates and this looks pretty similar and it will save me being without the camera for a week.

Yep, its the exact zip that was posted on sonys site, untouched. The english Instructions are in the PDF.

Why did Sony not leave it there for all to use? Maybe because they feared too many people messing the installation up which would create a bigger headache than simply doing it themselves?

Sony korea "accidentally" put it online for a day. Sony USA made you ship your cam to them, and pay them to do it. Just more standard money gouging by sony.

Why Sony does not just put the software up with a disclaimer, I'll never know.

Why would they want to go through such a pain dealing with ALL of these cameras!

Their profit is from users buying the now compatible extras $$$
Those are high ticket items, that's for sure.... Why stab us in the back with shipping our cameras off and charging to do so.

I checked and would get free shipping both ways with their Silver Support so that makes even less sense for Sony. I agree regarding the high ticket items...I for one have my eye on the HDD.
