Hi Knowledgeable ones,

Do you have to use the Firestore to gain the capacity of 100gb or can you use an ordinary hard drive controlled formatted by the HVX200?

if so how? and are there any third party things to download or similiar

I know you can dump the cards directly onto a hard drive without a computer once the HVX-200 formats the hard drive

many thankyous mate

Allyn.

.

If you mean for a streaming record from the camera into the HDD for recording, yes you have to use a Firestore. Or you could stream to the Capture Window of the NLE on your computer and record that way.

Best,

Jan

Yeah I was a little unsure of where you were coming from.

But, in addition to Jans point you can offload your p2 cards via the camera direct to HDD, but you must have power as the HPX does not deliver BUS power. Hope that helps.

Well the issue for me I cant physically look at the drive and see the files with XX gb of content. Just makes me a little uncomfortable.

Personally I use a Firestore, have never had a problem with its operation or workflow.

very interesting! I wonder if I should forget P2 cards ....if only the FS 100 with beebop wasnt such a big chunk of clutzy weight underneath, plus the clever way of beebop to make the screw that goes into the cameras bottom almost unaccessible....I am going to conatct these guys...focusinfo looks bleak anyway with stocks @2 cents...

I know this SATA solution which is very cool:
