Looking to buy new or used Panasonic HVX200

I'm shooting my first documentary in late October and I'm looking to buy a Panasonic HVX200.

I've researched this camera and decided it's the one I need/want. Looking to buy one with the following conditions/guidelines:

1). Must be in excellent to pristine condition. Please mention how many hours it's been used for too (with pics as well).
2). Must come with a p2 card
3). Must have all original accessories (battery, manuals, cables etc.) Original packaging not required but if you have it, perfect.
4). If you looking to include anything else in a package (tripod, case, extra battery etc.), no problem at all.
5). You must be a member of this site for a long time and have great references too. I'm using my savings (for three years now I've saved for this) and I don't want to get ripped off. Before any money is exchanged, a copy of a valid piece of ID must be forwarded (from both of us) so there's no issue of fraud. If someone can vouch for you on this site, perfect! Voice verification will be made too by phone.
6). Payment can be made in a cashiers cheque or U.S. Money Order only from my bank (the biggest and most reputable in Canada).

I'm being really specific in my wants for this camera only because it's an awful lot of money for something and, as I mentioned, I worked really hard to save for this project. If you object to any of these requirements, obviously, you are probably trying to hide something and that tells me all I need to know. I'm a trusting person but i need to know my purchase is safe and both sides walk away feeling good and satisfied about the sale.

Please contact me back via this site or at my email address: darlaanddale@mac.com

Sincerely,
Dale

P.S. This site rocks, which is why I really want to find a great buyer on here :)

use an established escrow service. you send the money to them, and they hold on to the money until you get whatever you paid for. seller uses FedEx to track, get your signature to verify you received the package etc. Paypal is good too, but you have to make sure everything is nice and detailed. you can also check on ebay, i would think that people with over 100+ orders to their name that has a rating of 99% or better is pretty reliable. make sure if you DO buy on ebay there is no fine print that says "all sale is final, no returns, etc....." ( that just screams camera doesnt work )

happy hunting :D

I never knew about an escrow service... very interesting indeed. I think most of the people on here (without even knowing anyone at all) would be great to deal with and honest as well. But after I read the warning about people getting ripped off for large amounts of money, it scares me a lot to deal with someone without doing it face to face. I've been on ebay lots of times and have only had a couple of instances where someone didn't pay me at all (for little things though).

Great suggestions though... I'm probably being too paranoid but I banking a lot of money on something I need to buy and it's risky to just send money without knowing a person's intentions.

P.S. I forgot to add this to my original post:

I have opened up a business account on paypal, so payment can be made through this way. It's safe but both sides and, of course, there's insurance in case anything ever goes wrong too (which I highly doubt). I've thought of different and safe ways of exchanging an hvx200 and $$$ and this is as safe and effective as any other service. I know people want to be protected (myself included of course) and I think paypal will be a good answer for this.

I will take care of all shipping as well for the seller (pre-paying and setting it up). I want to use a reliable service like Fed-Ex or UPS. Canada Post lost my mail last year (three months worth) and refused to ever reimburse me for my losses either (they lost wedding gifts, ebay purchases and even my marriage certificate). So, needless to say, I refuse to use them for packages or anything of substance anymore.

No need to worry about tariffs or taxes either, it's not an issue for the seller, I will take care of all the stuff with the courier.

Thanks,
Dale
