that part has very very low rolling. just like the fisheye video
anyone cares to do a test at 640?
does it save faster? it should, it seems it's using less of the sensor (no overheating).
Hi def saves immediately , I can shoot a video and then take a picture, no wait times.
Kholi mentioned it happen after a couple of hours (I believe) and after a cup of coffee it was ready again. So basically I don't think it's much of a problem.Haven't heard much about this 5 minute shoot time problem with people who own the camera now. Is it an issue? Does the sensor overheat, causing you to not be able to shoot for 30 minutes like some have stated?
I like step G.
So yeah - it appears this tricks the camera into using the lowest gain possible (and slowest shutter?). I assume the immediate part upon entering live view is to not give the gain a chance to increase. But we thought -4 to -5 on the easy exposure comp meant very high shutter speeds. Or maybe the shutter changes when you enter LV but the gain stays low long enough for you to press AE-L. Confused.
Kholi & others who have posted clips:
How are you saving your clips? To a card? If so, what kind(s)?
Is the D90's AV Out jack useful?
Amazing testing, you guys. Way out ahead of anybody else on the web, from what I can tell. Remember to eat.
First off.... A thousand thanks to those of you who ran out a spent your money on opening day (takin one for the team!) than spending many hours testing and sharing...... Very Cool!
Well, Ryan Patrick O'Hara...... I think you and I can't play together.... I'm sure your a stand up dude and there is no dought you have a passion for your work.
At this point it really looks like Chase Davies and his staff did quite well with the D90 after all. Did he get all there is out of the camera.... Oh heck no....or did he break some technical rules either by not knowing or he couldn't figure out Wacky work arounds? Did he come up with some pretty OK samples for the general public.... Yah he did.
I am by no means criticizing the efforts put forth here by the testers. Just that RP O'Hara makes a comment here that I totally disagree with. And by no means am I defending the "Blunt" comment made by another poster.
I just don't want others to think RP O'Hara's comment here is the norm or correct.
I base my challenge to his comment from 25 years of testing photographic gear for manufactures and myself. Also being involved in competitive motorsports for as many years.
The very first thing one should do when testing performance on anything is to create a "Baseline" And yes that means give it optimal and repeatable circumstances and make it the best you can make it. Now you have your Baseline. Than deviate with different tests always comparing it to the Baseline. When your making advancements, that Baseline should rise or you find out what limitations you need to deal with.
The pizza video was very informative in many ways.

Hey Folks.
I was behind the Low Light D90 video on the vimeo group (http://vimeo.com/1681694).
Unfortunately, I'm not totally positive of the details of the filming. The photo taken right before it had the iso of 1250, 1/125 , and 1.4. The only thing that might have changed is the shutter, but I'm pretty sure I didn't change anything.
I've got another video coming soon with more lower light shots, well lit and background noise shots too, i'll post it when it's up.
EDIT: Also, curious to know if anyone else is experiencing a lot of stubborness when exporting the movies out from imovie/fce. Tried both, and usually they will come out with audio issues, or with imovie, a lot of dropped frames and lagging.
