The end of 35mm adapers and hv20s....

try 50mm 1/8 at f/4, 85mm 1.8 at f/5.6-8
18-135 at 85-100mm, 18-105 at 85

using cheap lenses at 1.8 or wide open won't be sharp

noise if visible won't be hard to remove but if the image is soft you won't want to remove noise.
Zak's footage isn't proving anything new. it's like the helicopter shot from hv20. it's like having a 3x cmos camera, each under 1mp, telling us that one saves faster, less rolling.

as you may know slow speed make for a harder rolling shutter. that's why Chase Jarvas' shot show very very little rolling.

as for the future, if they put movie on a d400/d4/d800 those cameras have a much faster cpu and much more cmos save channels. it could greatly lower compression and the rolling.

This is what I got so far. I'm gonna have to do more testing when I'm actually awake--

A) Attach Manual Lens
B) Close Iris to about F8~11
C) Easy Exposure (+/-) Down to -4.0~5.0 (Still need to see how high you can go without gettin' gain reappearin')
D) Point the lens down under your desk (Shadowy Area)
E) Activate Live View (LV) mode and IMMEDIATELY press the AE-L (LOCK) to Lock the camera.
F) Open the Iris again.
G) LoL

Now, I've been playing with it and I've gotten it to work without closing the iris down. I just need to actually be awake to see what I'm doing. Got a clip of it bein' even brighter and clean. Manual lenses looks like the way to go with this sucker. Now I need to figure out if I can get it up to at least -1.0 without gain being employed for a slower shutter.

Warning: The next clip is gonna be even SHAKIER because I have a 90mm Macro on it. Tomorrow I'll officially break out the sticks and finally do something serious with what I've learned.
