Yeah you guys and your little cameras are making want a tiny hv20 (maybe sd9) and brevis combo or something that would be lightweight and quick to setup... hmmmmmmm.

Yeah if I had one it would be my travelling documentary/handheld camera. DM do you use one of these small cameras and an adapter? I'm just curious what specifically would drive me crazy. I love my HVX but there are times its size and weight make it a burden to take along....

the size of the hv20 is way too practical. I'm having a hard time upgrading to anything larger. It's like once you go small, it's hard to go big. I can fit my entire rig in a single mid sized bag, mattebox, follow focus, monitor, external battery, lenses, etc.. everything fully assembled and ready to go in an instant. The quality is there too. If I want to get 4.2.2 full 1080, then I just go direct capture to my computer. It's just way too good of a camera.

I posted my hv30 setup a few pages back. The thing that would drive me crazy is the lack of manual functions. Yes, there is the exposure "hack" but after a while, all the small little quirks of the camera would start to get on your nerves. At least they do for me.
I use this camera when I need something that I can throw in my backpack and go. Can't really do that with an HVX and Redrock, so the HV30 definitely has it's place.
GK, I'd really like to know if that mount for your Firestore is bought or custom made. I need something exactly like that! Please let me know.

I always wounder why everyone would get a Mattebox/adapter/FF/monitor that cost more then their camera?

I don't see a problem at all with spending more on accessories than you do on your camera. It's very easy to do, as long as you make good use of it. All you're doing is building yourself a nice filmmaking kit, so I don't see why spending more on all that fun stuff than you do on your camera should be a problem. Think of it like cars. People every day spend more on parts and accessories than they do on the actual car itself. A nice camera rig is no different.

the d90 cam has over a hundred thousand views and over 20k posts. The hv20 is a far better cam so I don't think many peeps have a problem with anyone rigging the thang with pro /prosumer equipment.
