The end of 35mm adapers and hv20s....

Gonna take the footage through Adobe Preimiere then hit Vimeo.

Are you converting it in Premiere or doing some editing? Because I'd like to be able to download the full-on MJPEG that came out of the camera itself, if possible.

I need to further investigate the entire exposure thing with D-Movie mode. I assume that I have this all wrong and that the exposure DOES change, but I can't see it in the [massive] LCD at all.

Okay, now you're just messing with my head, Kholi! Was the 1080i setting actually for output via HDMI or something?

Hi, just signed up (read the ENTIRE thread just today). I'm a Nikon dSLR owner with just a budding interest in video. The D90 announcement rocked my world.

Anyway-

In liveview, I assume if you set the mode dial to A, S or M, then you can adjust those settings with the front and/or rear wheels right? What if you try taking a movie in A, S or M and roll one or both of these dials?

Another alternative is to just leave exposure locked until the scene changes drastically, then press, let the exposure stabilize, and press again to lock.

And to address the question about 1080i, I would bet that is for HDMI output only, which would make it similar to the D3, D300 and D700.

Note: Doesn't seem like you can change exposure on the fly, either. You have to exit the LV mode (Live View - D Movie screen) then change the exposure and F-stop before you see it happen in D-Movie.

Manual lens would allow F-Stop changes to control light.

Yeah, I was flickin' through menus and mistook what I saw. That's why I deleted it. LOL

I'm trying to figure something out before I upload anything. I should be reading the manual, but here's a thought:

If you can't control the shutter manually then that means it's always locked on a certain setting. I'm assuming I need to roll through the menus to find this, but that's sort'a inconvenient if you can't change the shutter.

Right now it's got the high speed action look, I would have to get it down to 1/48 for it to look proper. Anyway, transferrin'.

Anyone want to host this crappy footage? You're not tearin' my site down!

Edit: it's so cute/adorable how the DSLR records and actually plays back the sound. LoL

put it on vimeo or Blip.

Blip tv has a quicktime player, it's very convenient and doesn't knock the quality down/

Are you sure?

It doesn't change. Just did a test clip outside. You can change exposure, after locking it, by holding the PLAY button and pressing up or down, but that doesn't seem to change the shutter at all.

I need to be able to change the shutter, f-stop, and the faux exposure. ISO works, the rest just needs to now.

Playing while uploading.

Let me know what you find out, Drew.

Went to BB in my neck of the woods and nothing. There has to be a way to control the jello effect. Many of the more professional footage don't have it.
Usually the auto exposure gives you a choice of shutter priority or aperture priority in the dslrs.
