The end of 35mm adapers and hv20s....

Man, if Kholi just stepped out to do something unrelated to the D90 while he waits for it to charge, I'm going to be...... sad :(

here's a link to some panning characteristics of the D90. This is a huge thread, but it might not have been posted. I don't see any exposure flicker in this sample.

Just a new member, I look forward to learning form all of you. I'm a still photographer but probably will get the D90 if the D5 doesn't have this video capability.

100% sure that exposure can be locked.

Just tested it.

100% sure.

edit - You just switch to manual mode and hold down exposure lock, like expected. WOO!

I see the flicker in the video.
I am a still photographer too and joined this site because of this thread. Can't wait to see what this camera can do when people hack it!

Add &fmt=18 to the end of the address to increase the quality of the Youtube video:

Works for all Youtube videos, compare:

There is in fact quite a lot of exposure jumps in that clip.

1) AE lock CONFIRMED. As easy as pie. Set AE lock to HOLD in menu. PRess button. No more jumping exposure. You do NOT HAVE TO HOLD THE BUTTON! You merely need to change the menu settings to AE-LOCK (HOLD) and it's done for. Period.

2) Skew = LOL JELLO CAM. Dont' expect any fast pans with this thing.

I would have figured this out had I read the manual. Who reads manuals?

Back to shooting.

3) Skew is not due to VR. I'm using a different zoom lens (17-35) And it's still skewing. More than I expected at wider angles. Oh well!

Your debunk was just debunked by Drew Ott

When you're trying to prove that something DOESN'T happen, you can't prove a point by simply saying that it doesn't happen.
And any proof that is offered up which shows the problem happening is no proof at all.

My Nikon rep just dropped one off at my Studio......"He said Have fun....Need any Lenes..... I'll pick it up in a month or two!"

Bummer is..... I'm out of the Country till the 15th.
