I ran out of the house so fast that I forgot my apartment keys and locked myself out.

D90 acquired. Seeing if D70 batteries will work.

Edit: D70 Batteries do not work. So that means charging. LAME!

Don't forget to try out the ( LO ) ISO mode for super clean images. As well the 3200iso and 6400iso mode. I can't to see the night time footage too.
 
Seeing as how people already have cameras in their hands, I'd like to see some confirmation on some of the more serious issues that have been speculated for way too much in this thread.

Actually, you'll want to stick with ISO-200 which is the "base" ISO. With a lower ISO, you may or may not get any "cleaner" images but you will lose dynamic range. Thats why they call it the base ISO, because its the optimal for both noise and DR. Again, you may get cleaner images lower than the base ISO but the difference may not be noticeable with the naked eye but you will for sure have less DR which is probably more visible.

It'd also be nice to roughly test dynamic range and see if skew is fixed at all by faster shutter and wide lens.

I just called Best Buy by my house. They have them in, but cannot sell any until Sunday (Nikon's order).

Some one wanted to know about the statistics of this thread, what was ment to be a simple thing turned out to be stupidly complex:

I created a parser program to rip the HTML pages from DVXuser, then parse out the post time & date stamps,

these were then saved as CSV files

Ingested into Excel, only excel doesn't undertand the "text" as time/date data, making things worse, date is in American format,

More time wasted later, using GNUplot and Clemenintes v11.1, gave up, went back to excel, eventually after using the text to column, to text merge to data convert:

Wide lens = Will mask skew always.

VR = Skew? That's gonna be the first thing I test. Package came with no HDMI cable (as expected) and I was too eager to get back home to grab one. Oh well. Gotta order some CF cards because they're too expensive at BB anyway. HDMI cable orderin' along with it.

Exposure lock should be in the manual, I'm not even doubting that one.
 
Hey Drew,

I live in Austin and the Techridge Best Buy has them. Unless they broke the rules or someone is getting fired, you can get it from there.

Exposure lock is in the manual. You can press the AE-L/AE-F to turn it on and then press it again to turn it off.


You mean SD cards not CF right Kholi?
