The end of 35mm adapers and hv20s....

New clip from Japan. Large file

What's weird is some files are running at ( 21.56 mbits/s ) like this one

http://photo-cafe.jp/scoop/archives/2008/09/d90_movie.html

The duck footage is running at ( 22.83 mbits/s ) and is an orginal

The original bird footage is ( 14.27 mbits/s )

What's up with this?

Another thing too,
Someone pointed out that the D90 stabilizer that is in the camera might be running while video is going. This stabilizer might be causing some of the image wave because it's intended for still captures and not video.

.

wait, is that the one they released or just the one they announced?

They just announced, that they are looking into the possibility of possibly announcing a RED scooter 350cc. I've already reserved mine by paying half and am 756th in line. I can't wait for 2012 to come! Going to be the best Christmas ever!!!!

The wobble is so prevalent I wonder whether the kit lens (which would be what many of these clips would use) is part of the problem, specifically the VR reduction system ?

A wild guess at best, but I do know from personal experience that CMOS rolling shutter wobble can be exaggerated by other mechanical influences - I say all this with no clue as to how the VR works, so take my comments with a large pinch of salt.

These threads go by so quick I missed this. Yes this is what I posted about too! I wonder this as well.

I´m starting to lose hope in the image quality of this camera. Apart from a lot of rolling shutter problems here, probably caused by vibrations from the trains, the footage just lacks clarity. Lots of pixel crawling, and what I think is compression artifacts. Really hope I´m wrong.

21.56 Mbps here too !?

Outside of the data rate mystery, the usual problems are present.

The compression looks particularly noticeable on this visually busy clip.

Same here :(

I have been perfectly willing to get this camera even knowing it's probable limitations - thinking that at worst a little bit of post and some downscaling would produce a nice SD image but I am even wondering if that is such a good idea now ?

Why is everyone making all these early conclusions about this camera! the only footage that we have seen has been very poorly shot. It would be like judging the HVX by watching footage that was shot by someone who had never picked up a camera before.

WAIT until it comes out and some good footage starts to show up before making a decision about this camera.

I think we need to get this camera and see where it's factory adjusted at , then go from there. We need a Nikon rep to talk with on this board. Explaining to them things that we need , will help them more to getting maybe firmware adjustments to improve things.

Im waiting tell the smart guys get the camera that are on the film side. Then we will know where it's at.

Of course we do have to wait and see what a knowledgeable operator can get out of the camera, but yeah I've seen some stuff in the test videos that puts me off thinking this is gonna be the next HV20/Scarlet/whatever. I'd still love to play around with one.
