FS: R3 SGPRO 35mm adapter w/ follow focus gear- $650.00

Is anyone familiar with this guy?

He just joined last week and the price on the SGPro seems a little too good to be true.

Any experiences?
 
I am selling because I got caught into the whole 35mm hype.
I just got a book and studied about color correction and hue and gamma and etc, and I can achieve that 35mm look without the adapter.

Exactly how do you achieve extremely shallow depth of field with a prosumer video camera by studying "about color correction and hue and gamma and etc."

You say you can achieve "that 35mm look without the adapter".

How?

Call me crazy, but I doubt that an entire industry has sprung up over the last 4 years based around 35mm adapters, all of which have been purchased by a lot of smart people, and yet YOU are the only one to figure out how to do it WITHOUT an adapter.

If you really can - then SHARE! Don't be afraid.

How are you achieving 35mm depth of field without an adapter?
 
He's not. He's basically using gaussian blurs in post to simulate that effect. It looks nice, but definitely doesn't substitute for the real thing - not only would it take hours to isolate the object in focus from foreground and background, but even then blurring does not account for the "crystalizing" look we all love, with out of focus objects like lights diffusing into beautiful abstract shapes, etc.

Still, if he's happy with it, then whoever gets the adapter at this price should be happy too! :D
