DVD wont play in DVD Player!

So I burnt an hd dvd in dvd studio pro (exported from compressor 60min hd dvd) and I burn it all with the menus and what not, and it will play in any mac, but not a dvd player or an xbox or even a PC! what am i doing wrong =[ Also, it is burnt onto a standard 4.7gb dvd.
 
You were expecting a different result? That's pretty much how it works with the "HD-DVD" format DVDSP burns onto standard DVD-Rs. It's kinda useless outside of the Mac world.

no its not an HD DVD player =/ well when i export as sd, it crushes the blacks and all this bad stuff. and it only comes to about 800mbs. Is there any other way to export the file so i would get better quality? or am i stuck with just the 9mbs a second? thanks for the help

hahah sorry if im a bit confusing, here we go i'll start over:
I exported from final cut via compressor.
I selected the setting HD DVD 60 min. Than in the further quality selection i select i think its 30mbs a second, not sure i just select the highest one.
Than I import it into DVD Studio, do all my menus and what not, than burn. It plays on the macs, but not the dvd player or anything. But the weird thing is i burn to a STANDARD dvd. A normal 4.7gb dvd that was introduced years ago, not the semi recent, and failed HD DVD formated dvd. So is there anything i can do? I wanted the highest quality of my project (shot in hd) and the best settings on the SD dvd settings only gave me around a gb, while the HD one gave me an almost 3gb. Sorry for all the confusion i was never good at giving directions or explaining things =]

As I stated before:

"HD DVDs won't play in SD DVD players or PCs.

Xbox is iffy. You said it had no HD DVD player, so it won't play a HD DVD.

Is there something else that we are missing?
