How to mask for 2.35?

Hey,

So I love the cinematic feel of 2.35/39 and would like to mask for it.

When I used my DVX I'd hit the letterbox mode, place some tape where the borders were and go back to 4:3, then just crop as appropriate (whilst also appreciate the wiggle room I'd get from having the 4.3 image).

I want to do the same with the EX1 but there's no academy ratio option from what I can see.

I was wondering if anyone else had done it and what they'd done? Cropping footage without having framed it for 2.35 in the first place is problematic and I'd like to film future shorts etc with this framing in mind.

A quick fix way would to be to shoot a 2:35 registration chart and and mask your LCD monitor to match it correctly. You would then have to crop accordingly in post. Here are some links I found that may help.

There were more, just search 2:35 aspect ratio on yahoo. I think I have a 2:35 registration chart I could fax you if you can't find anything else.
