Can anyone post me up a comparison of the .6x wide angle and the .7x wide angle by century optics. I can't decide which one to go with. Thanks.

The .6x is and adapter. The .7x is a converter. You can zoom right through on a converter but not an adapter. That's why the .7x is a lot more expensive.

Hi, unless you REALLY have to have the century optics lens, why don't you check out or try the Sony .6 / 72mm wide angle converter? you can read up on it in various threads here. It works very well with the DVX & allows for full zoom thru! It costs less than $400 new. I got mine at an auction in eBay for $200!

There is also a big weight difference between these two adapters which might be important if you want to use the Merlin Stedicam stabilizer. This is why I am leaning towards the 0.6x adapter. I can live without the zoom-through feature of the 0.7x adapter, as most of the time I am going to use the 0.6x adapter at it's full wide perspective.

0.6x adapter weighs: 199 grams

0.7x adapter weighs: 720 grams
