Want to go to Canada

I want to visit Canada, sometime in December (not the holiday weekend) for 4-5 days.

I am wondering where I should go, and if any of you know of any good travel packages or deals. I'd prefer to go as cheaply as possible, but still decent accommodations. Any help would be appreciated!

LOL.. Seriously.
My house?

Seriously, Canada is a pretty big country. Do you have any place in mind?
The East coast is gorgeous if you want to be near the Ocean. Toronto is nice if you want that big city feel.

I think you'll have to give us some idea as to what you want to get out of this trip. Otherwise just grab a map of Canada, close your eyes, and point.

Cheers,

Mike

Ok... here's what I really want :)

My dream...

Cabin in or near snow-covered mountains.... away from everything but close enough to be safe...

Wireless internet :)

I just want to get away... don't want to be in a big city... though it'd be fun to go to a hockey game in Canada.

Then I suggest a nice cabin in Vancouver. You could always drive in for a hockey game.

Of course, there are plenty of places like that around Ottawa/Quebec.
Check out Mont. Tremblant
Gorgeous in the winter as well. If you don't want to stay right on the hill there are plenty of smaller places nearby. HERE
You could do a day trip and either go see a Sens game or a Habs game.

C'mon, If he's going to go to a hockey game, let him watch some real hockey.:)

First thing I thought of.

I started my vacation today and on Monday I'm going up to Squamish/Whistler, I rented a cabin as a bunch of my buddies are coming to town for a wedding, so 6 of us are going to this place on Monday for two days, http://www.tantalusviewretreat.com/squamish.html , a little bit expensive but, it looks absolutely incredible. I'll post some pics when I get back.

This place is pretty isolated, it's located between Squamish and Whistler.

Vancouver isn't that long a flight from LA too.

The East Coast (Maritimes) isn't a great place to visit in the winter time. If I had to pick, I'd choose either Vancouver or Quebec, Montreal and Quebec City are incredible places to visit.

There are tons of those cabins all over the place.

Like what, a team that doesn't even make the playoffs? :D

:D

I figured that was coming. There's nothing I can say to counter it. Damn.

3 ****ing years. Last playoff game I watched was in 2003.

Things are starting to look up now though.

Brandon, if your looking to just get out the city and chill in the mountains, north of Vancouver is where you'd want to go.

Yep,I think that's where I'm headed... now I have to convince some friends to come with...

I'd suggest renting a cabin like what I'm doing, split it with a couple of friends, you'd have a blast, and as I said, there are tons of them available.

Just looked up flights... about $450 on average for round-trip to BC from LA. Not bad.

Anybody have any alternative transportation suggestions that may be cheaper?

I can tell you where to NOT go. Saskatchewan. It's where I live and it's arguably the most boring place in the universe. This province offers NOTHING. It's not that I lived here long enough that I am getting sick of it; it really is just a lousy place to be.

If you want to go somewhere beautiful, definitely check out British Columbia. Mountains, HUGE lakes, amazing scenery... It's pretty breathtaking.
