Vans Warped Tour Qualifier - skate footage from dvx+letusfe

So I went to a skate comp that was a qualifier for the Vans Warped Tour. To be honest, my focus pulling is pretty off and the sun was going crazy all day; but, I still want to hear what people think. Yes you can see the streaks from the GG at some points and there is vignetting on the right hand side (anyone willing to link me to a tutorial about how to perform surgery on my LetusFE and fix the position of the GG would be praised). Other than than the few things you mentioned, I really liked that. Kind of a 70s super 8 from stacy peralta's home movie feel. :D Very cool.

What kind of CC or in camera settings did you use?
 
thanks kidwoo. i actually rattled off quite a list of things that were wrong with it haha. hopefully the guys at letus will help me fix up my adapter just nice.

i was going for that kind of old look with some overexposure and deep contrast. i honestly dont remember my scene file settings but i know my detail level was at -4, my master ped at either -7 or -10 (to crush the blacks) and then anything else was just to fix up my white balance.
for color correction i messed with a lot of magic bullet presets and put together "LS Punchy" "LS Sharp" and then used some of FCP's color correction, like 3 way color correcter.

Seems like every time I see a look I can't duplicate easily, magic bullet gets mentioned :D
 
to be completely honest, you can do this without the bullet. i was messing around with certain things and you can do it with a combination of filters...smart on my part by not saving what i had done to replicate it. its all about adjusting the gamma and contrast, or at least thats what i found to be the two biggest factors. you can always add a slight sepia filter too to get a yellowish look. everyone told me all that and i never did it until i got magic bullet haha...weird how that works
