The NextFest...Music/audio?

Not sure if this has been suggested/thought of before for a dvxuser fest...

1) A Music Video Fest: this could be that dvxusers would have to get rights to their own song, or the dvxuser mod's could find a sweet song that everyone would use to make a music video. (basically every user would be sick of that song by the end of the fest)

or...

2) A "set audio track" type fest, basically the audio would be a mixture of sound effects, music, and maybe dialogue, that again would be provided by the dvx mod's, and everyone would make a video to the same audio track.

Brilliant? Lame? Need a hug? :crybaby:

...if it did happen, I would suggest that it didn't take the place of the standard dvxfest's though.

Well with the whole music video thing the rights is the only issue I could see. I do agree this would be fun though. I think the second one would be more of a possibility though because the mods always want to make a fest where any genre can be chosen. But I think it would be cool to do something different!

I think the fests are trying to get away from gimmicky things and focus more on the full art of filmmaking.

I think that if you wanted to do some kind of "gimmicky" fest, the mods providing a script would be a more appropriate means (rather than providing a soundtrack). That way, everyone is working off the same blueprint, but the results would all be different. It would have to be a pretty superb script though!

I like the set audio track idea. It would be cool to see how everyone used the sounds in different ways. But it definitely shouldn't take place of the regular fests.
