LIVE Band Shoot - Suggestions

I'm a fairly new Dvx user and I have a live band shoot tomorrow. Its going to be pretty low light and I can't use a camera mounted light. Any DVX settings or suggestions for me?

My background is in audio production so I will be recording the audio separately on a laptop. Any suggestion for me to simplify syncing of the film footage and audio?

Thanks in advance!!!:)

I shoot bands with a DVX100B all the time.

1. set white balance in a fairly well lit area or use preset.
2. I like to shoot 24p but I'm sure these settings will work 30p or 60i too.
a. Detail level -4
b. Detail coring +6
c. Chroma level -3
d. Master Ped +6 (adjust onsite, watch for too much brightness)
e. A Iris level +2 (or more if needed)

All other settings on first screen = 0, 2cd page is up to you.

That's all folks!!!

you need to grab the light guy and get him to put key lighting on each band member. without key lighting your image will suck. the blinking colored lights can be cool and look ok with a key light. but without it will look like crap with your reds blown out color smear. will be a waste of your effort. light is everything. i learned the hard way. yes use a preset white balance.

The shoot went really well except the 2nd camera was a rental and the mic blew on it right away lol. Its not a huge deal because I recorded the house sound separately anyway. But now the fun part is trying to match up the blank track with the audio , any more suggestions?

Thanks for all the responses! they we're great help.
