Hi,

I'm going to be buying an EX1 pretty soon, but I'm currently searching around for the best deal and I thought I'd ask in here as well, to see if anyone new of any good deals.
Thanks

Yep ive checked them out too - those 2 ebay sites - but are they really legit? Anyone had experience from them etc?

Both ebay sites have been around for a while. I haven't purchased from them but check out their feedback. If you are in the UK you can pick up and pay cash from one of them while not at the other. So there's no risk and a big saving.

Downside would be warranty and probable grey market.

Its finance mate - u have to apply for finance - they will send u the documents, u fill it in, send it to them (or whatever bank it is) and once your ok'd you get the cam sent through :)

Yeah, they send you the docs through email. Print it, sign it and post the agreement to them. The loan is with Barclays. Also, make sure you will definately have the cash to pay in ten months time otherwise its a horrfic 200% you pay back......thats Barclays for ya!

I will be getting more kit from videokit as they are extrememly helpful.

Very true and the deal I have got. If you don't pay the full amount after 1 year, it's 29.9% interest.

So this is what I am doing. A month before the year is up, I am selling my ex1 on Ebay, in its original box. I will probably get about £800-1000 less than I paid for it. I will then pay off the loan and make up the difference.

Then I will buy another new EX1 or the EX3 at the start of the 2009 weddding season. I will always have a new camera every year for reliablity, so basically a years rental of the EX1 will cost me the difference between what I paid for it originally, and what I can get for it. So a year for £800-1000 is a very good deal.

I make sure I keep the original box, all the packaging, the manual etc in top top A1 condition. Actually I might even try and sell it on here first. Buyer can collect from me and have a play with it.

I will never get near that 29.9% interest noose.
