Brandon, this looks great. I think you have found the story that can transcend a purely christian audience here. Incredible stuff!

Hopefully we'll have some cool news to share soon :) We're working on the score right now, as well as the post sound, and color. The film is coming along really well.

Color Correction/Grading

Color Correction/Grading

Well, here we go with another fun step of post... Color Grading/Correction. Basically we'll be making sure shots match, which some didn't even though they were shot in the same setup, the angle of the shot can change the way it looks, and the SGPro on one of the cameras sucked more light than the other one, so those shots will have to be bumped up a bit.

Kappa Studios will be handling all the color work as well. I'm going to be copying my Avid mediafiles and project folder onto an external hard drive (2 TB variety) and get it down to them next week. Hopefully I'll have some color corrected grabs to show soon as well.

Thanks to all who have stayed with us during the journey of NGL.

Looking forward to seeing the results of their work. Sometimes the subtlest change makes the biggest difference.

Yeah, even in some of the tests I've done just in Avid's basic color corrector I've had some nice results. The HVX gives so much to work with, and we had all the depth and highlights we needed as well from the work of our Gaffer/Lighting Director Marcelo.

I'm excited to see how it'll look in the final output. I'm still pleased and somewhat amazed that we shot this film on two "little HVX's" :) pretty cool.

Today is reframe day.

Some of the shots in the film needed some minor frame tweaking (vertical) since we're cropping at 2.35.1.

I've been working on that today, and have finished about an hour so far. Most of the shots work as is, but there are a few here and there that need some tweaking.

Getting closer and closer it sounds like, i can only imagine how excited you will be to have the film 100% finished in your hand.

Im excited for you and i cant wait to see it, and follow the marketing/sale of the film after completion.

I went to your web site yesterday for "No Greater Love" and watched the trailer.

I just wanted to tell you how impressed I was. Eveything looked so polished an professional. The trailer was great.

It's amazing how much you have learned and accomplished in such a short time.

My hats off to you and your team.

Also added a timeline of events to the front page, to keep people up to date on where we've been and where we are today.

Post-Production Update

Post-Production Update

Well, I'm working on getting all my files ready for Monday morning, when we'll be making our way down to Kappa studios in Burbank to continue post sound, and color work. I'll be bringing along the DVX to take some BTS footage for the DVD possibly. Might take some stills as well to show everyone. Post production is moving forward.

We'll probably need one day of ADR for a few spots, and one scene, but otherwise we'll be using all production audio.

just watched your trailer and i can't believe the boy who could fly is in your movie!

very cool, good luck with everything.

I think that in the end drama films are judged in terms of realism, and the sense of realism that I felt here on the No Greater Love trailer was phenomenal.

Let me know when the film is done, so I could say Bravo to you!
