I need to rent or buy a 32gig P2 card in Hawaii asap. Anyone have one or know who might have one in stock?

Aloha,
Craig

your screen name says you are in Canada? If so, shipping won't get here in time. If you are closer than that, what are your rates?

to bad i would have traded p2 rental for some underwater footage. for my" around the world in 80 waves" . maybe next time.

Sorry indeed, I appreciate you offering your stuff so promptly. I need stuff by Sunday and I happen to live in the sticks. Overnight to me often takes a week, no matter how much is paid to the UPS guy.

I do have the need for some audio equipment rental coming up next month. Tell me more of your needs for underwater footage. Trading sounds like a great way to proceed. I have lots of footage you may enjoy. What is your project all about?

Aloha,
Craig

Hey Jetaddiction,

Just checked out your trailer. Really nice stuff. Some shots definitely looked like they were filmed out here in Hawaii - always nice to see.

What is the story, is the project done? Let me know if there is footage you might be looking for to add to it and I'd be happy to help.

Aloha,
Craig

Hi Jetaddiction,
I see that you have a Gyro stabilizer for your hand-held rig.
I've been thinking about investing in a KS8 or a glidecam v20 steadicam rig.
My question to you having used both what do you prefer?
I like the idea of shooting handheld in boats and in the back of truck and think that the gyro would work better unless you rig up some sort of pedestal mount to attach the steadicam arm to.
But i figure for walking and or running shots that the glidecam should work better than the gyro. What do you think?
Does the Gyro work well with walking and running?

i do have both ks-8 and the glide cam v8 .it was never one or the other .they do different things . when shooting from any truck ,boat, ski,or heli the gyro shines. the spinning gyro want to stay pointed at one place in space and will fight to stay straight ,even when you truck is speeding up or slowing down you will have to fight it a little . they fight against you when you start to move and fight against you when you go to stop. meaning once up to speed panning and pointing are done slowly and easily. they take out all the giggle and vibration even when zoomed ,and are worth all the money. the steadycam once balanced can move from stop to a quick forward movement and then stop fast and pan and tilt without fighting to keep frame. trying that witha gyro you will fight it to move forward fast and fight it to stop quick. as well fight it to keep your frame . but once you up to a steady speed and not panning the gyro is the best. gyro is for long distance smooth. steadicam is for closer ,slower camera movments changing directions .spinning . when we walk we move up and down alot . a good steadicam lets the operator move quickly while panning and tilting. lots of practise to keep a good frame .rookies will shoot alot of what i would call frame searching. panning and tilting to far and swinging back to frame. make shots easier with a little choriography to not try big pan/tilt and start stopping all at once. very hard to keep framed. will make you seasick. hope this helps.. gyro is not the choice for walking or running .or shooting from a horse. will not stop the up down movement of a human like the steadycam does.
