Add a lamp on top of DVX100B

Hi I am looking to put a small lamp on top of my DVX but I don't know where to go. There is a renting place around here saying that they rent a Freze lamp with a battery belt for 35$ per day and the batteries last only for an hour and a half... I am wondering if it's worth buying something because I will do a lot of interviews for a documentary that will be shot often low light situations. If anyone has any suggestions for that matter it will be greatly appreciate.

Thanks

The Frezzi uses standard MR16 bulbs, they come in 20W-100W varieties. Sounds like the rental light has a 100W bulb in it. Get a 30W or 20W bulb, if you can use lower brightness levels, it will last several hours depending on the belt.

No, it will last no longer than about 90 minutes max in my experience.
To buy a Mini Frezzi will set you back about a grand. I would suggest that you purchase, or rent, a light stand and an AC adapter. That way you can save your battery belt and have some flexibility on light placement. An on camera light is the worst and is used only by run and gun TV cameramen who are som busy they don't have a choice. The Frezzi's a great little light, but put it on a stand if you can.

Thanks for the reply I also heard about a LED light is that any good if anybody experience that and what is the price range?
