I own a Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop with ExpressCard slot and Windows XP as OS. I've bought an adapter for PCMCIA cards which should support P2 so as to speed up workflow downloading the cards on the laptop while shooting with other cards. However, while I could install P2 drivers for connecting the camera through USB, I couldn't install the drivers for Cardbus.
The first time I've done the installation, I had been asked by installation program to insert the card into the slot, but I couldn't, since I at that time I hadn't bough the Expresscard adapter yet. So I proceed with AVX200 installation, which worked fine.
But then, when I finally bough the adapter and tried to install the drivers for that, the installation program didn't offer me any more the possibility to do it. What happens, is that when I'm required to select which hardware I want to install, the first option of the list, which should be "P2 card Cardbus adapter", doesn't appear at all any more. You can see how the screenshot looks on figure 19 in Panasonic P2 installation manual ( https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/cs/csregistp2m/soft/p2install_manual_e.pdf ). The first option does not appear any more in my PC. I've tried to disinstall several times the drivers and reinstall them, with no result.
