The NEW Panasonic Bt-LH80 with SDI/HD-SDI !!

man i'd love one of those. maybe barry can give me his old one when he picks this one up, lol

I buy the HVX 200, 45 days later they bundle it with a 16GB card. I buy the BT-LH80W, 45 days later they announce the BT-LH80WU... I'd buy another 32GB P2 Card but if I do I'm afraid two weeks later Panasonic will start selling the 16GB cards as a "Buy two get one free" promotion.

Spec-Comm is sending mine out this week. Hopefully, they'll send the right one. Otherwise, it's going right back.

Does it have Component In/Out or is it just SDI? Can't tell from limited literature. Is the SDI In only or Loop through? I'm still in the market for a new monitor to replace my Marshall (see marketplace). It's come down to:

TV logic
Component In
SDI Loop through
Waveform/Vectorscope
Peaking
Pixel for Pixel
7"
IDX / XLR

Panasonic
SDI In/ Out?
Component In/Out?
Waveform
Pix
Red Focus
7.9 "
IDX / XLR

Nebtek
Component Loop through
SDI Loop Through
Peaking
IDX/Pana/XLR

Any thoughts on pros/cons between the three. So far TV logic has my attention, though I don't know many people who've used one and I can't find them for rent in NYC. Zacuto seal of approval may sway me, but love to hear from a few more who've used it.

Panny has a great image but the old model didn't have the loop through I need. Need to find out about the new.

Nebtek. I played with it at Abel and has an outstanding image and brightness. Loop through on both component/sdi but no scopes.

wow that tv logic looks awesome. Included HD/SDI on the panny is pretty damn cool too. Looks like I'll need to upgrade my nebtek to an HD/SDI one or get one of these two cool monitors.

Tim, post your thoughts on the TV logic when you get it if you have time. Thanks.

BT-LH80 is SDI in, and component in, and you can use just the Y jack as a composite video in. No loop-thru, no output. It also has a viewfinder input.

Spec-Comm has confirmed that the BTLH80 is only the newer model from here on out. Panasonic has discontinued the previous model.

So, if you order one, especially from a non-flagship or non-authorized dealer, check, check and check again that they're sending you the updated model!

For those with the old LH80 - stupid question.

Does the red lined focus still work through the Letus or another 35mm adapter? Seems stupid, but I just wanted to know. i'm leaning towards the Panny - especially the new panny over the Carrion. But no since in the Panny if the Focus in Red doesn't work through a DOF adapter, since I don't do much videography work. I'm mainly working on features.

Just received the BTLH80U today. Same price as the old model! Wow. Now that's what I'm talking about Panasonic.

Hi Tim,

Which monitor did you decide on, and why? Saw both the Nebtek and Panny at AbelCine and like the both. Pulled the trigger on the Nebtek....

Still trying to get rid of my Marshall. I'll probably settle on the TV Logic. Panny still has no loop through. TV Logic has loop through for SDI and just component in. Also has vector/waveform and is touch smaller (lighter) than the panny. Same size screen as the Nebtek. Similar price.

Know anyone who wants a marshall for 950?

Hi Barry,

What cable do I need to use to connect my HVX202 to this BT-LH80WU monitor?

Since this monitor has no loop through/output, what is the way to connect this monitor to the director's monitor? I have asked the same question on other thread, email to Panasonic, called B&H but nobody respond! WHYYYYYYYYYYYY??
