Deleting MXF files from trash how?

I am new to mac and cannot seem to get my P2 files to delete from Trash. It says I have to hold down the option key when I select empty trash in order to delete any locked items but this never works. Any ideas?

Click on the file, Command + I, click the lock check box in the 'get info' dialog box, Press Delete (not backspace).

thanks but in my post I stated that the option key is not helping. Also unchecking the lock does not work. And I am to do this with every mxf and txt file?

Use the Disk Utility to Repair Permissions...restart...try again. Option Key is the way to do this.
