Look at this still of from HVX200A and tell me if this noise is normal

Its a full rez grab at 720 24PN.

Factory setting on F6, O db gain, iris open all the way.

For the record, I understand about lighting. This was a simple case of I turned on the camera, pointed it at a dark corner of my office and thought - wow that looks noisy.

I just wanted to see if it was consistent with other peoples 200a's

well, lighting was nill, just some ambient light from a window. But lets just say it was enough light to get the exposure on the pic with a wide open irus on an HVX200A. The photo was untouched.

But that's kinda the point. Once the iris is wide open, the camera is begging for more light. Let's say for instance that there was enough light to PROPERLY expose at F1.4, but the HXX iris doesn't go that far. And lets say the next person shoots in light where a proper exposure would need f0.7. It's half as much light, the picture would be FAR more dark and grainy, and the iris would still be wide open. It's not really a fair comparison because one person would be comparing a picture with half as much light as the next, even though both could claim the iris was "wide open".

Make sense?
