Best place to buy Herman Miller Aeron chairs

I am in the market for a better chair, all these hours sitting I need something that is good for my back and is comfy.
 
Have you tried Craigslist for your area? There are always at least a dozen of them for sale at any given time here in the SF Bay Area.

be careful - there are a number of different models of the aeron. the ones you'll see on ebay or the like for $500ish probably wont be the better model.

from my experience there is a HUGE difference in comfort between the entry level and the higher end aerons.
 
i got mine on ebay for $400 2 years ago. slightly used. there are options that may or may not come with the chair but it is all the same chair. mine has around half of the options but all the ones you'll ever want. lumbar, adjustable armrest height, tilt lock, tilt stop, height, etc.

and yes, definitely the best chair in the world. if you edit for hours and hours you will know this..
 
I sit in one at work for hours and hours. The only complaint I have beside the cost is that the mesh can be really hard on some fabrics like polyester. F'n chair trashed my favorite leisure suit.
 
I've not spent a lot of time in Aeron chairs, but I've never found them to be very comfortable in the short run. Is it something you get used to?
