FEATURE: NO GREATER LOVE - Official Thread - Feature Film

Good looking stuff Brandon. I'm also looking at doing something along this line one day. Go with the new woman or back to the wife/girlfriend who hurt you but you still love. And on top of that now she's changed/found God/realized her mistake etc. I like the premise. Tell me when it's out, I'll do my best to grab one.

Thanks for the comments!

I'll def. keep everyone here updated! :dankk2:

Just finished Cut 6 of "No Greater Love"

Brad had a spotting session with our composer today...hopefully soon we'll be able to announce some new info about the music of the film!

Here is a view of the timeline of our latest cut of NGL....

Looks so much like the FCP timeline. How do you mix all those tracks? Do you export them to a sound program and go through them one section at at time or do you have a way to do the mix on the fly? Thanks for the image. It's very impressive.

Now THAT is cool!

Hey Brandon what did you use to do a screen capture of that?

Just print screen function in windows.

I don't do the mixing, so :) hehe... I'll export an OMF file for whoever does the final mix and give them all the ISO tracks on a hard drive, along with a daily report log/notes from our production mixing team, and from there they should have everything they need.

Cool, I think I'll blatantly copy you and post a similar shot in my thread later. Why didn't I think of that??

hehe, go for it... I don't hold any copyrights on that idea

:)

btw, rendering out a new cut of the film... we're calling this one 6.5!

Brandon, Do you prefer using Avid compared to Other NLE's. I've used it for a few projects but it seems like some things are more difficult to do, or maybe just a little less unforgiving.

I'm going back and forth between FCP and Premiere Pro right now for the most part.

Thnx for posting that screen grab by the way.

Why are there large video looking chunks yet small audio chunks? I'm FCP and I know you can nest sequences of scenes inside the longer pic cut but whenever I do that, both the video and audio are one long chunk. Does this make sense in avid lingO? or should I further tweak my question... :)

Cool grab, Brandon. That represents so much work...Congrats.

Geoff I'm guessing the large chunks on V2 are not the clips but a widescreen matte or a black slug or something. Pretty sure the clips would be all those smaller edits on V1.

Jared, that's exactly right!

Thanks for answering the question for me

To be honest with you, I don't have much experience in other NLE's. I started on Avid, and have just always used that.

I have used Final Cut before and haven't found it as fast as Avid. The real breakthrough for me came when I discovered how fast I could edit in Avid when using trim mode, which I pretty much edit in exclusively.

I had the first cut of this done in nine days, including logging all of the footage... and I wasn't working around the clock either... and some of the scenes have stayed close to the same since cut 1....

First deal made!

First deal made!

Hey fellow "users"

I wanted to report this here FIRST!

Early this week we signed a deal with CARMEL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP for NO GREATER LOVE. Now... what does that mean? you ask. Well, basically CARMEL will be working with the majors to get a distribution deal for NO GREATER LOVE.

A little background on CARMEL. Their first film they worked on was called FACING THE GIANTS. Many of you know this film, it was released in 2006 and grossed over 10 mil. in the box office, in a limited theatrical release. And went on to do, last I checked 18 mil. DVD sales.

So all that to say, we're in good hands, and I have a feeling that CORAM DEO and CARMEL will make a terrific team...

I will certainly keep you all informed on everything, as much as I'm able!
