The second round of voting will consist of the finalists, so you will know if you need to produce a higher res render for the event.
 
Sounds like a good time. Not Rogan!! but the screening party. What a great idea. Invite some hollywood producers and some agents. Maybe some of these filmmakers or actors could get something going.

We are, indeed, having a broad panoply from the film-biz strata attending the event. As much as we do like to joke around and have fun, I want to emphasize that our primary objective here is to elevate ourselves in the eyes of the industry. For many of the industry professionals attending the screening, this will be their first exposure to DVXUSER. Obviously, we want this first impression to be a wake-up call that there is talent in this community worth paying attention to. That's why we will be screening some prior winning shorts in addition to the TimeFest finalists. There will be a number of agents, producers and working actors at the screening and hopefully the buzz and excitement will be infectious.

Over the past year we've been fortunate to make a lot of valuable contacts ourselves here and all of us at FM have been extending personal invitations to the many people we've worked with and have encouraged them to bring others they know as well. So far the early response is very encouraging.

Thus, I do hope that those of you who are working professionally in the biz (or who are poised to take that step) will make every effort to get out here to network and add contacts to your PDA.

In addition to our personal venn diagram of contacts, Barry Green and the mods are also working hard to add their circles of influence to drive attendance from the professional community. Finally, we will have a number of sponsors who are all supporters of DVXUSER and many of them or their representatives will be coming to see what we're up to. All and all, this promises to be the networking opportunity of the year and although it is a hardship to travel in these times of high oil prices, I do think its going to be worth the trouble and expense.

You are correct Pauly, EVERYONE ATTENDING MUST BE 21 AND OVER. That is per the venue and we have no control over it.

It goes without saying that there will be alcohol at the venue and that everyone should be aware that their behavior will reflect not only on themselves, but on DVXUSER and FAT MONSTER. (so please when I start bumping into people, someone pull me aside and sit me down in a corner. :) )
 
Given Mark's last post, forget what I said before. I'm now running the price of airfair past my executive planning committe (read: wife). :thumbsup:
 
Well, then I am out officially. I do not own a fake ID.

Given Marks last post I was going to actually call a friend in Brooklyn to see if I can crash for a night so I can make the flight in the AM.

Too bad, I was looking forward to it.
 
I have some good news for those of you (and perhaps me) who won't be able to attend the event in person. Last night I conducted a test of the live web stream system and it worked wonderfully.

So fear not you will be able to watch the evening unfold just as if you were there with us. And, of course, we'll record the stream and make it available in the event you can't watch it live.

That is awesome! Great to hear.

Thanks, Larry. I'll be out of town and have about a 4 hour time differential as well.
It will be a late night for me. :D
