Need help finding music loops in FCP studio

I was told that there are a lot of simple free background music loops in FCP studio, but we can't find them if they are there. I have series 5.0.4 on a G-5 and could use some help finding simple music loops to use as background music for my short Knock, Knock, which is shot and in post production. We are learning FCP studio on the fly so we don't know the system like a pro would, but we do know enough to edit, put scenes together and put split screens together into one screen, just the basic stuff at this point. So if there are music loops in FCP could someone give me direction as to where these music loops are, and how to get them, or if they are not there some suggestions for finding them on the web. Thanks.

If you don't have SoundTrack Pro, you don't have any music loops.

FCS2 ships with it as did FCS1.

In a pinch try GarageBand

If you don't have STP reinstall from your Final Cut Studio discs and make sure you install SoundTrack Pro and all the loops it comes with. That said, most loop music is kinda sucky. Why not work with a local composer looking to get credits for your short instead and something for their reel. This requires a little bit of work on your part but the result is way superior to loops. Finding a free composer for an early short is typically very easy.

Thanks David S. Well I have soundtrack pro and I'm instaling it now. I thought I had already done that, but I didn't I guess. I also have Apple loops which is installing now. Thanks for the tip and we will see what happens after installation.

I don't know of any local composers, but we do have a great song done by a friends wife that we will use in the closing credits. There must be a lot of loops in the loops CD as it is taking twice as long as installing STP. If I can find someone who can compose for this short I will use them, but it is good to have a backup that will work, even if the music isn't all that great. The story is very good, all the cast and crew are chomping at the bit to see the final edit, and STP just finished installing, so now maybe I can find what I need for now.

Well its all installed and I still can't find the loops. This probably has more to do with my lack of experience with the system and computers in general. At 60 I just don't pick up on computers and operating systems like those who grew up with them, like my AD who is learning FCP on the fly and is quite good at it. But he isn't here right now and I would like to have a basic understanding of how to get to both apps. So if anyone can give me some very basic instructions on how to navagate STP and Apple loops I would greatly appricate it.

Thanks Noah, you guys are a great asset for us budding filmmakers, even us old budding filmmakers. When we finish Knock, Knock I'll post it with a link to the web site I want to post it on. I know a few, My Space Veoh, etc, do you have any favorites for hosting videos? We shot it in 720 24p and would like a site that can give the best resolution for our short. Also we are going to submit it to some film festivals and see how it does. Interesting that they use the Reno Air races which is where I live.
