The Enchanted Notes of a..............Piano

OK, I think I was let down by this short. I’m not sure I got the story entirely and the end just did not make sense to me. Was he able to go back and forth through time by playing the piano? Did certain musical numbers enable forward and backwards time traveling?

I’m sure if I looked through your thread,, I would find out what you meant.

I enjoyed the steadicam shot of him running back from the woods. Although, I have no idea how he got there in the first place.

Congrats on entering the fest.

I hate to say the story is confusing to me. Did the guy actually wake up twice and each one at different time or the first wakeup was a dream also? Anyway, I liked the piano music. The actor really is really talented. The DOF is very pleasing also. You did a great job! Congrats!

....errr. I realize the story is a little confusing, but see my previous post for what I intended the story to be. I decided to do this fest at the last minute and the story/writing definitely suffered as a result.

I'm glad you all seemed to like the acting, piano playing, and camera work. Each new short that I make *hopefully* jumps up another level of production.
Jon, (spelled "CAN") was basically a first-time actor, (he's done some Turkish TV a long time ago) and it was lots of fun to work with him, and I was very pleased with his performance.

Thanks for watching, and next fest I will be sure to make something more clear.

I was too mesmerised waching him play the piano to worry about what the film was about tbh ;)

Music :)

Seeing as how everyone likes the piano music the best-
I think I'll make this into a music video, then I don't need a story that makes sense, or even a story at all. :engel017: look for it in the furure....

After reading your explaination my criticisms went out the door. I think that the whole story wasn't clear, but you can learn from that. Good job and good luck!

EDIT: There was one technical issue I had, the color changing the letter box was a bit distracting.

I have a cleaner, slightly updated cut available for viewing. The extended and *hopefully* more understandable version to come soon...

Latest release can be seen HERE.

Thanks for watching.

Looks good. Seems like you've done some work on the sound and also the last piano playing scene has been colour balanced to seem more night. Am I right? I'm afraid I didn't go back to watch the original again so I was going on memory. I did notice that to me there seemed rather abrupt cuts in the sound between when he's playing the piano and the sound either side of it. I think you either need some ambient/room sound that carries over into the piano playing or you need to clean up the sound when he's not playing. Probably you need to do a bit of both and find a happy medium where you don't impair on the piano playing, but you don't get that "switch off" effect either.
