Hot HPX 3000

Hi,
We just purchased a HPX 3000 and it gets really hot quick. Right where the fan, is the camera gets very very hot. Is this normal? If I leave my hand near the vent it hurts. That's how hot. We just installed the HD/SD SDI Input Board. Would that have something to do with it? On the subject of the Input Board, would we have to calibrate it?

I don't have a 3000, but that sounds a little odd. I think I would call Panasonic customer support and find out if that is normal.
