Leaked Alien footage...real?...or a good fake?

My big thing with U.F.O.'s and the reason why I think 99.99% of the sightings are questionable is because they are always described as having these beautiful brightly colored lights. No matter the U.F.O. shape, disc, cigar-shaped, triangular it doesn't matter, U.F.O's are always spotted by their fantastic and unique lights.

What gets me is that if you are flying through space, at the speed of light, or faster, why would you ever NEED lights? It's not like you have to worry about running into anything up there. Its not like somethings gonna run out in front of you. Makes no sense.

It makes it easier for the loonies in the sticks to see them... ;) But seriously, why wouldn't they use lights? They are down here quite often, and wouldn't want a Cesna to hit them by accident. And in theory, light speed isn't possible for vehicles.

I know it's fake (as much as we can "know" anything)...but I have to say there was something hauntingly authentic about this one. I thought it was sad even. Looked like a caged creature dying. At least a real filmmaker made this hoax! :-)

Ah yes the "teapot" argument

Simple because of two reasons:

(a) Falsification positive.
(b) No casual consequence.

Were as the any supernatural entity is the exact opposite to the above.

But there are as many instances of "falsification positive" regarding the supernatural as there are regarding alien photos. It's impossible to prove a negative, but there are many instances of supernatural events being revealed positively as fake. (As in when the participants later admit that they made the whole thing up.)

To be skeptical is perfectly fine. However, just denying anything you don't have hard proof of, is as ignorant as believing everything you hear. I have always been interested in the Paranormal, Aliens, and Cryptozoology, ever since I was a young child. Do I believe every story and picture that is presented to me? No. I will try and debunk it. But just because that picture of Bigfoot is obviously a guy in a gorilla suit, does not prove there is not a 7 foot hominid out there. It is not logical to deny or believe without proof, but whether it is possible or not. Those are two very different things.

Fair comment, however how is it then possible by your reasoning that one can measure "that which is un-measureable".

Put another way, "how long is an infinately long rope?" clearly this rope has no finite unit, hence it can not be measured.

Pour through all the classical works and you will find that no one to date has been able to sufficiently argue that a supernatural entity is a "falsification positive".

I'm still not quite sure what you mean by falsification positive. However, as for your other ponderings, an infinite rope should have no end. But, unless you measure it, you will never know if it is, or isn't. There are plenty of "bottomless pits", but logic dictates it is NOT possible for it to be bottomless... unless it opens into a dimensional rift, it will have a bottom. Just because nobody has been able to measure the depth is not proof of the "bottomless" title.

As for Paranormal, I tend to believe what I can see, hear, smell, and touch, but not always, and not completely. But when I say I have seen something, felt something, and heard something, and I believe it is real, it is because I did experience it first hand, and had no logical explanations to the contrary.

LOL. If you are whizzing through space and dodging planets and asteroids and comets etc...I think the least of their worries would be a 4 seater Cessna. I hear what you are saying but to have lights, just to have them, so they can turn them on and blink them, and be fancy and to put on a lightshow, only to eventually showcase how fast their ship is by invariably ZIPPING off....seems a little bit like showboating to me. I'd like to think that any visiting aliens would exude humility and class. :cheesy:

I actually believe in life on other planets. I absolutely cannot even for a second fathom that there isn't a ton of life out there. But knowing what we know about how vast space is and how distant the nearest galaxy's are, a genuine Alien ship would HAVE to fly at the speed of light or faster aka wormholes to reach us and still be alive. Which, could be a clue right there...maybe we are being "visited" by nothing more than lifeless probes sent here by the scientists from a distant galaxy much in the way we send rovers to the Moon or Mars. Could just be a data collecting expedition.

Having said that, I for one would love to believe that Aliens and U.F.O.s have visited Earth...I just don't think its very likely.

What I think you're saying is you can't prove a negative. You can't prove that god does not exist, only that he does (which is a proof we still await).

But otherwise I'm not sure what you're getting at. The point someone made was that he had experienced something he believed was supernatural, so he feels that who's to say some of the photos/videos of aliens aren't also possibly authentic. And you seemed to suggest that proving/disproving the existence of aliens is different than proving/disproving the existence of the supernatural. They're both impossible to disprove "universally" no matter how many times you can disprove individual accounts. The only proof you can have is eventually to prove that something does exist: when the aliens make themselves apparent or god appears or ghosts appear introduce themselves to each and every one of us revealing their existence to everyone. I'm not holding my breath for either event, but there is no absolute proof that aliens do not exist anywhere, nor that there is not some supernatural power anywhere, and there never will be such proof that they do not exist. We can only look for proof that they DO exist, and so far we haven't found anything like proof.

Why would they not use marker lights like we do on aircraft, boats, and cars?

Well, if aliens are in fact visiting our planet I don't think they want us to know about it. If so, they would just land in a highly public area and make themselves known. And, since marker lights used on cars or boats are a safety measure to alert everyone else, it does not seem like they would want to draw attention to themselves by installing external lights on their ship.

Granted, any assumption on their technological savvy is conjecture. We have no idea what their ship "needs" would be in form or function. So, I guess I am just making an assumption that if they are savvy enough to reach our planet, they would also be scientifically well beyond our capabilities and quite possibly our scientific imagination. If you can skip galaxies, marker lights just seem like a very primitive function for a ship that would absolutely have to have exceptional navigational gear installed to detect and track all sorts of neighboring people, planets, places, other ships or miscellaneous things.

Why does everyone assume, if there are OTHER lifeforms visiting us, that they even NEED a ship? Isn't it just as possible that they can 'beam' themselves here IN the light (K-PAX)? Maybe they are here already as a single cell? Lets take a closer look at cancer....just a thought....

While "beaming" is the Holy Grail of space flight, it is the one that presents the greatest hurdles to overcome. Imagine having to disassemble a being, keeping track of where every atom is, transporting those atoms to another point, and then reassembling them accurately...

...ahhhh... but how can we define what a 'being' is? Maybe they are MADE of light??? hummm....hummm....do I feel a new SciFi script in the making?

There is a cool book called "The Physics of Star Trek" that tackles this. At the time, HDDs were up to 10 gigs. And the author said the info needed would add up a stack of HDDs I think reaching halfway to the sun. Something insane like that.

Seen it several times and as you can tell from my post, I agree with their conclusion about beaming, even the more insidious possibilities of duplicating oneself perfectly. Hey, has this been done...The Prestige?
