I want to put old movie effects on a title sequence but the scratches and effects look static-- like the film is not running through a projector. once the characters appear then the filter effects look proper, like running/spooling film. How do you get title sequences to look like it's actually passing through a projector and NOT like a simple frame grab?

Does the Sony Film Look plugin not work properly with titles?
If not, maybe it's because the titles aren't really "moving".
Try this: export a frame of the titles, make multiple copies of it with sequential filenames, then reimport them as an image sequence and see if the plugin then treats it as a clip.
I'm just spit-balling here, but if no one else chimes in with a knowledgeable answer, it's worth a shot.

Do you have version 6.0? You need to update to 6.0d. The initial release of 6.0 had a bug which kept the film effects from being animated. It was fixed in 6.0a, but 6.0d is the latest update.
