"RPDM" by Two Bears One Cup

WOW WOW WOW! The production value here is amazing. Your female lead is great and the concept is awesome. The male evil dude, I didn't buy completely. He did have a "Shoot-em up" bad guy feel though. The end worked well and I thought it was a great piece. This is in my top 5 favs guys!

What, you don't buy a comic-book reading Phillip Seymor Hoffman bad guy? :) Yeah, I admit he is a little iffy. But we decided to try a comic-book angle on this film, where such a bad guy might exist.

Thanks for checking us out!

Just for a different take, I thought the Bad guy was totally believeable. The first time I saw him I thought "That guy is psycho." He's got that serial killer "always the quiet ones" look about him which is perfect for the type of film that R.P.D.M. is.

Well yeah, we thought we could get away with it in this kind of comic-booky movie.

I will get over to your thread tonight. I am way behind due to a wedding that took me out of town this weekend, but catching up as fast as I can!

This one blew me away. I've got a thing for gritty surreal movies like this anyway, and I loved this one. A great example of how voice over should be used if it is used at all. I didn't feel like the monologue was ever redundant, and there was enough breathing room that it wasn't overwhelming. And the speed ramps were perfectly executed. Gotta get my hands on a variable frame rate camera one day . . .

Great work, guys. :)

Thank you so much. Mark and I had a lot of fun working together and were already in talks to do another.

Speed ramps were all Mark, he had the idea from the get-go and his exicution was flawless.

Didn't you use the hvx for Four? or am I on crack. If you shot that thing on a DVX im gonna quit the biz.:costumed-smiley-047

Edit: you did shoot that on a dvx!!!! sheesh, im not making anymore films.

That is actually J.R. "Bob" Dobbs from the Church of the Subgenius, a counter-culture regular from the 80s. I had always loved Subgenius, and when I put Bob in the film, and asked permission, they LOVED it and wanted to be a part.

You inspire me!

Are your slo-mo sequences twixtorized or warped?

Just saw this again.

I used time-remapping. Exported high res AVI from Vegas, and then remapped in AE CS3. I found for what I needed, simple remapping did the trick.

Next time though I am moving to FCP. If for no other reason than Joe works with it and exchange will be easier, and automatic duck makes transfer to AE much easier.

I just wanted to throw up another word about just how amazing our make-up guy was. Not only did he do a great job on Linnea, but he also did the "corpse" for us. It makes a very brief appearance in the film, as I had storyboarded it.

But Crist went ahead and built it so that we could shoot it from any angle if we wanted.

P.S. - NOT A RICKROLL

I was able to freeze the flashes in the movie. Showed my wife as well! :D

BTW, I love that he takes the comic out of a protective sleeve. Nice touch!

Yeah Mark. I have to agree with the sentiments around here. By far my fav from the ol Markster. The story was clean as a whistle. Your best writing yet IMO.

I loved the bad guy too. Good on him and the girls revenge.

If I can speak openly for a sec, that was pretty fkn good.

Woohoo!!! Boobs!!! :-)

Okay, now that thats out of the way, very good movie. I couldn't really tell what was going on untill the end, but it was a fun f1cking ride. Very nice style, thick and vaporizing all at once. The fx, the acting, it was all smooth and enjoyable.

I don't know Shawn. Maybe the guys can cough something up. I respect you dearly my friend, and am just having fun. I got it totally but, hey man, its the movies I guess.
